Social workers are welcome to take any of the following Red Cross courses in order to become a
disaster volunteer. The following 7 courses are the only ones currently approved by NASW Missouri for

  social work contact hours:
  Disaster Mental Health Services I 12.25 hours
  Disaster Mental Health: Overview 2.75 hours
  Family Services: Providing Emergency Assistance 6.50 hours
  Introduction to Disaster Services 2.75 hours
  Liaison I: Building a Community Collaborative 6.00 hours
  Mass Casualty Disasters 6.50 hours
  Weapons of Mass Destruction 3.25 hours

If you plan to attend one of these courses if scheduled by the Red Cross, then contact
NASW Missouri at 573-635-6965 to find out how to receive credit for licensure renewal.
