Instant messaging, text messaging, cell phones, internet, chat rooms—bullying is no longer confined to the playground. Advances in technology have created new avenues for those who prey upon others to take advantage of their vulnerability. Children who bully others can turn into antisocial adults and more likely than others to commit crimes, batter their spouses, abuse their children, and produce another generation of children who bully. This research based workshop provides information on the scope of the problem and what steps practitioners may take to identify and address the problem and intervention
methods to redirect bullying behavior. You will be given hands on tools to build a
comprehensive, proactive approach to reduce and even eliminate the problem of school
bullying.
Learning Objectives:
Increase awareness of the bullying problem and how it relates to school violence
Define & recognize bullying; identify modern methods of bullying
Practice strategies for dealing with bullying

This active-participation workshop combines lecture and discussion with practicing yoga and relaxation techniques. All levels of yoga experience are welcome, including those with no experience. Each participant is asked to wear loose comfortable clothing, and bring two blankets, one pillow, and one yoga mat. Early registration is encouraged to ensure adequate space for movement and comfort.
