Assistance Response Effort)
"Social
workers should provide appropriate professional services
in public emergencies to the greatest extent possible"
--NASW Code of Ethics
We
often hear about tragedy and natural disasters throughout
the country. Missouri is no exception.
Flooding, tornadoes and fires can devastate our own
communities. It has also been said that "violence
does not discriminate." Crisis and tragedy
do not just happen in other states. The National
Association of Social Workers-Missouri Chapter would
like Missouri's social workers to demonstrate leadership
and responsibility by mobilizing their professional
resources in times of need.
We
are compiling a directory of social workers who could
be called upon to assist communities in Missouri when
needed. These social workers may specialize in various
areas, but must be competent and confident in crisis
situations. If this is something you would be
interested in becoming involved with please fill out
the application form.
NASW-Missouri
Chapter will provide specialized training for C.A.R.E.
group members, and charter members may also have the
opportunity to train future participants.
